BHS students get top marks in IGCSEs
Almost all of the Bermuda High School’s 2020/2021 IGCSE cohort achieved grades between A* and C or equivalent.
None of the students were able to sit their final exams owing to Covid-19 and their final grades were awarded using the teachers’ predicted grades and moderated coursework.
A total of 99.6 per cent of students achieved A* to C grades, while 72 per cent earned A* and A grades or Level 9 to 7, significantly above the 28.9 per cent achieved by all students in the UK.
Close to half, or 49 per cent of all IGCSE grades at BHS were A* or Levels 9 to 8.
Linda Parker, head of school, said: “Our IGCSE students achieved outstanding results. Although Covid-19 disrupted their education for another year, this cohort of students rose to the challenge.
“We are so proud of all of our year 11 students for their resilience and determination to succeed. Each of them took responsibility for their work and focused on achieving their own personal targets.
“I thank our supportive and hard-working teachers for their unwavering commitment and dedication to helping our students reach their highest potential.”
