Event addressing privacy and security issues to be held today
A virtual event designed to tackle privacy and security problems will be held today – with another planned for next month.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the Bermuda KnowledgeNet Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals will hold an educational webinar discussion.
The event will include Alexander White, the privacy commissioner and Michelle Finneran Dennedy, a privacy engineering expert.
The "fireside chat" titled “Understanding How To Make Privacy Happen” will discuss recent topics and trends in the privacy and data protection field.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner will also run a virtual Awake Cyber Security Conference along with cybersecurity experts from throughout the Greater Caribbean in December.
An event spokesman said: “The core mission of the Caricom Awake Cyber Security and Technology Conference Series is to raise cybersecurity awareness and understanding, while providing technology best-practices and solutions guidance on a wide range of cybersecurity and technology topics.”
The event will be held on December 6 from 9am to 12pm and on December 7 from 9am to 11am.
Both are free and open to anyone, especially ICT leaders in the Caribbean.
Conference topics include building an effective cyber and data security programme, secure product development, ransomware defence, bot defence, digitisation in the Caribbean context and data privacy.
