School enrolment opens for the next academic year
Online enrolment for parents to register their children for the next school year has opened, the education ministry announced yesterday.
Registration options through the new PowerSchool online enrolment were released for preschool, primary school and middle schools.
The education ministry will release senior school registration details later this month.
Preschool and primary school applicants must create a new account through their e-mail address.
Applications will require a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a copy of a Belco bill to confirm the home address and details of any medical problems.
The Bright Start preschool programme will be held at St David’s Preschool, Victor Scott Preschool in Pembroke, Southampton Preschool and Lagoon Park Preschool in Sandys.
Priority enrolment will be given to children in the child allowance programme with Financial Assistance.
The registration period for preschool and primary school registration has been extended from three days to three weeks and will end on February 4.
Parents of pupils going into middle school or signature schools will receive an e-mail through their PowerSchool account with a link that will allow them to set up a PowerSchool online enrolment account.
A covering letter, also attached to the e-mail, will give an alphanumeric snapcode and instructions to help parents complete registration.
Parents of middle school pupils enrolling in the public school system for the first time must complete the online application sent through their e-mail.
Middle school registration will be open from Monday to Wednesday.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered until all on-time applications have been processed and that could affect a child’s placement in the school of choice.
Parents who did not attend the Government’s virtual open houses can visit the Bermuda Public Schools YouTube channel to view the schools.
For more information, contact the registration co-ordinator at registration@moed.bm or call 505 1395 and include a contact name and number in all communications.
