A new school for primary-age pupils is opening at the end of this month in Hamilton.

The Teaching Learning Caring Academy on Park Road offers alternative schooling option for children aged five to 11 or primary school levels one to six.

TLC Academy will offer a combination of “traditional, online and hands-on learning along with collaborative play”, according to the school’s director, Kimberley Mensah.

Ms Mensah, who brings more than ten years’ teaching experience, is offering language arts, maths, science, art, music and PE classes.

She comes with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Biomedical Engineering.

Ms Mensah said: “I am very excited to open the doors and welcome students to TLC Academy, where we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and fun learning environment for primary school students.

“We are starting small, which will give students the specialised attention and help that they need to succeed in the classroom.”

She added: “The last two years have been very difficult for many students but TLC Academy aims to offer another option to get back to learning in a small, safe environment.”

Ms Mensah said registration for TLC Academy was now open.
