Aspiring artists have chance to join affordable master classes
Bermudian artists have been offered the chance to work with a world renowned artist over a digital platform.
Chase Szakmary, the owner of the digital art platform Crit, has invited young artists of all mediums to sign up for a small workshop with the British artist Dexter Dalwood.
Mr Dalwood, a contemporary art teacher, was made an artist trustee for the National Gallery of London in 2011 and has recently had gallery shows with Simon Lee in Hong Kong and Oaxaca, Mexico.
The workshop is aimed at teaching upcoming artists the fundamentals of the industry, as well as courses on techniques and skills that are on par with university courses.
Mr Szakmary explained: “The aim of this course will be to push participants to think harder about the decisions they make concerning their art practice and to better understand what they are making art for in the first place.”
Participants will be paired with individual educators who will show their pupils the ropes of the art industry and help to connect them with other artists.
Instructors will also teach small groups with a maximum size of 15 people, all while saving on about 75 per cent of costs when compared to university courses.
Courses will run on June 6, 13 and 27 and will run for two hours starting at 1pm.
Admission is $650 and must be made by May 23.
