Passion, determination and enthusiasm have won Armani Brandy and Micah Richardson the 2022 Devonshire Parish Council scholarships to support their further education.

A spokesman for the DPC said both candidates were more than worthy of the award, praising their commitment to their community.

“Armani Brandy is an ambitious, thoughtful and determined young woman,” the spokesman said.

“A lover of dance, she uses this artistic medium to express herself, connect with her community and foster positive relationships. She will be attending Clark Atlanta University to study early childhood education.

“Micah Richardson has a passion for the environment and will be studying Environmental Science at Mount Allison University.

“This enterprising young man has already distinguished himself through his work with numerous community services organisations and his advocacy for combating climate change, particularly as it affects small island nations.”

The spokesman added that the scholarships would help both students achieve their goals.

The Devonshire Parish Council Scholarships are worth up to $5,000 and are awarded to graduate and undergraduate students who reside in Devonshire.
