Boot camp aimed at helping young video game designers
Young video game designers will have the chance to attend a “boot camp” to enhance their skills.
The event on August 27 is being organised by Bermuda Island Games and educational organisation dCyfa.
BIG previously hosted a video game design challenge in March with virtual participation from dCyfa.
A spokesman for BIG said: “Based on the feedback from that challenge, there needed to be a programme that taught coding to a younger audience.
“As a result, BIG and dCyfa have joined forces to deliver the junior video game design boot camp, which will encourage younger students to learn how to apply coding in video games.
“The all-day boot camp will feature various coding levels using the same technology on which many of today's video games are built.
“Beginners can learn how to understand basic programming concepts. Intermediate coders can learn more advanced tools such as augmented reality,”
The event, which is for children aged seven to 14, will be held at Warwick Academy and costs $10 per person.
