UK university event to be held today and tomorrow
Beach Education, a consultancy that helps Bermudian-based families to identify schooling opportunities in Britain, is to hold a UK university event today and tomorrow at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
Representatives of the University of Plymouth and Loughborough University, both shortlisted for University of the Year 2022, will be on the island to share their advice on courses, applications and to help students to find the right course for them.
Fiona Beach, director of Beach Education, said: “The UK has over 100 universities with four ranked in the Top Ten in the world. This provides an amazingly broad choice of courses at many different locations to suit every student’s individual needs.
“The tuition fees are exceptionally competitive when compared to North American or European counterparts and with the current GBP-USD exchange rate it becomes very affordable.”
She added: “Furthermore, the UK recently announced that Bermudians can access UK student loans, which can provide additional support where needed. We are very pleased to be able to feature two prominent universities — University of Plymouth and Loughborough University.”
On Friday at 4pm, the universities will present on the benefits of a British university education, the application process and finding the right course, followed by a meet-and-greet event from 5pm until 7.30pm.
On Saturday, the presentation will take place at 3pm, with the meet and greet to follow from 4pm until 6.30pm.
Beach Education is a Bermudian company with more than 50 combined years of British educational experience and a proven track record of successfully placing Bermudian-based students into outstanding UK boarding schools.
It placed its first cohort this month of 17 pupils into a list of schools including Sherborne, Millfield, Sedbergh, Repton, Bedes and the government boarding school Sexey’s School.
