Seven receive scholarship awards from PHC Foundation
The Pembroke Hamilton Club has unveiled the seven awardees of the PHC Foundation’s 18th annual scholarship awards.
The foundation, which has supported more than 50 students, gave out a total of $25,000 in a ceremony held at Chubb Limited.
Seven young men were given a helping hand for studies at high school, college and university levels.
The winners of this year’s scholarship are T’Syi Showers, Kauai Evans, Eusebio King-Mills, Keishon Bean, Canijzhae Nesbitt, Roque Roberts and Stefan Simmons.
The PHC Foundation has awarded over $325,000 since its founding in 2004.
Mark Simons, president of PHC Foundation, said: “We are extremely proud of this year’s group of extraordinary young men selected to receive a PHC Foundation Scholarship Award.”
Chalsey Symonds, a former PHC majorette and this year’s guest speaker, gave awardees advice for studies as well as life drawn from her own experience.
Progressive Labour Party MP Dennis Lister III added some words of encouragement.
The PHC Foundation’s primary objective is to assist young people at the Pembroke Hamilton Club in pursuing higher education. It thanked the 2022 donors for making this year’s scholarships possible.
