Student boatbuilders battle for cardboard vessel supremacy
Created: Nov 19, 2022 07:44 AM
Students from across the island worked to keep their heads above water as part of the Annual Inter-school Cardboard Boat Challenge.
The event, organised by the Institute of Bermuda Architects and the Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers, challenged students to make their own vessels using only cardboard and duct tape.
Teams of up to five had only two hours to construct a boat strong enough to hold the students and travel the 50-metre length of the pool at the National Sports Centre.
Cardboard material for the boats was donated by Butterfield & Vallis.
