New study area opens at Saltus
Students at Saltus now have a new space in which to study on campus.
The Learning Commons, which officially opened last week, is part of a multi-phased development programme to enhance learning experiences for students.
According to a school spokeswoman, the centre will give students an opportunity “to engage in self study, develop important research skills and conduct explorations in all content areas”.
Julie Rousseau, the Head of School, added: “This is the place where learning isn’t about collecting the dots, but rather connecting them through cross-curricular partnerships that boost critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and communicating abilities.
Other initiatives include the Saltus Museum and Teaching Archives, and plans for a Presentation Centre. To date, 60 per cent of the needed funds have been raised through philanthropic support and fundraising efforts will continue until the completion of the project.
