Spring into the Arts returns after three-year hiatus
A youth art showcase is returning after a three-year hiatus, the Department of Education announced today.
Spring into the Arts, which allows public and private school pupils of all ages to show off their artistic flair, returns on April 20 with the theme “Transformations: A Fresh Perspective”.
Kalmar Richards, the Commissioner of Education, said: "Spring into the Arts is an amazing opportunity to rally around and support our young people.
"Students across the island are working hard to bring you an explosion of creativity.
“I encourage all Bermuda residents to come out to these events to support our students as we bring back this wonderful annual festival."
Spring into the Arts offers several venues throughout spring for youngsters to showcase their visual arts, performative arts and poetry.
The annual event was postponed for several years during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Participants this year were asked to reflect on their personal ideas of transformation after the myriad of changes from the pandemic.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, said: "The Ministry and Department of Education look forward to the public supporting Spring into the Arts 2023 as these showcases are invaluable opportunities for our young artists to shine, reflect and share the world from their eyes.“
