School summer camp schedule announced
The Government will be holding day camps across the island during the school summer holidays.
The theme of this year’s camps is “Summer of Colour” and the camps will be held from July 3 to August 2.
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, said: “The annual summer day camp programme continues to be a very popular recreational and educational option for our young people.
“Each year, we welcome hundreds of children from east to west. This is an engaging environment for our young people, and every year our team at the Department of Youth and Sport look forward to hosting those who sign up.
“As it relates to our hardworking parents and guardians, we will continue to provide them with support by ensuring that the programme is available for our young people during the peak summer months.”
Parents will be able to register their children for the camps online from next Wednesday, May 3, by clicking here. Spaces are limited, and cost $60 per week, per child. All payments can be made online.
Camps for children aged 4 to 10 will be held at the following locations.
• Camp Kiskadee – Dalton E. Tucker Primary
• Camp Pontoon – Prospect Primary.
• Camp Hibiscus – Elliot Primary.
• Camp Chameleon – Paget Primary.
• Camp Bermudez – Northlands Primary.
• Camp Palmetto – Eastern Zone Community Centre.
A camp for children aged 10 to 14 — ‘Girls to Ladies & Boys to Men’ — will be held at Dellwood Middle School.
