Students and staff at the Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy charity enjoyed a double celebration marking the educator’s birthday with a motorcade and a “hats off” ceremony.

Margaret Phillips, the principal of the charity, which caters to children with disabilities, said the event “brought so much joy” to the faculty’s staff and students.

Ms Phillips said: “Today, May 25, as we celebrate Dame Marjorie Bean’s birthday, we are so grateful that our second annual Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy hat day and celebratory motorcade brought so much joy to our students, staff and the Bermudian community.”

Ms Phillips thanked government ministers Kim Wilson and Tinée Furbert, along with the senator and minister Owen Darrell, for attending the event.
