A workmen’s club helped 80 families prepare for the new school year by offering free hairstyling and lunches to youngsters returning to the classroom.
Harrington Workmen’s offered schoolchildren haircuts and braids courtesy of Luxury Cuts.
Barbers included Kesia York, of Luxury Cuts, Bermuda’s only certified female barber specialist.
Families were also offered packed lunches and hygiene products to get them ready for school and some even won raffle prizes and gift cards.
The all-day event, which took place at the club in Smith’s, attracted families from across the island.
Najee Musson, the president of Harrington Workmen’s Club, hopes to hold the event annually.
