Water and waste water safety courses are being offered at the Bermuda College.

The college has highlighted three mini courses “designed to take a holistic approach and to raise awareness and understanding of the different facets of water and waste water management”.

The courses will provide basic professional training in water quality control.

The first course, Best Practices for Residential Water Management, comprises two seven-hour sessions designed to equip the average homeowner or maintenance worker with basic skills for managing residential water and waste water installations based on national and international guidelines.

Participants will learn about water treatment, quality control and conservation, as well as the best practices for the safe management of waste water.

The Drinking Water Quality Control session is an interactive, intermediate-level course for maintenance personnel and facility managers as well as educators, students and specialists in the field of drinking water quality control.

The college said: “Through a blend of interactive lectures and hands-on practical sessions, it will provide attendees with essential tools for the treatment, quality control and sustainable management of drinking water supplies.”

Topics in this course include: drinking water analysis and monitoring, drinking water processes, national and international water quality standards; best practices in integrated water management, and new trends in water treatment and quality control.

Lastly, Fundamentals of Waste Water Treatment and Management is an interactive course also aimed at maintenance personnel, facility managers, educators and students, besides specialists in waste water treatment and management.

“Through a blend of interactive lectures and hands-on practical sessions, this course will provide attendees with knowledge of the concepts and tools essential for operating small-building to industrial-scale waste-water treatment facilities,” the college said.
