Saltus enjoys games and parade for annual fundraiser
Students at Saltus Grammar School enjoyed a float parade, activities and friendly sports as part of an annual fundraising event.
The Saltus House Match Week raises money to provide access to financial assistance for 15 per cent of pupils at the school while continuing to support innovations in academic, performing arts and athletics programmes.
On November 17, the events culminated in an afternoon of games designed to bring students, staff, alumni and families together in the spirit of giving.
Denise McAdoo, director of advancement at Saltus, said: “This event is a showcase of Saltus’s school spirit and our ability to come together to make a lasting impact on future possibilities at Saltus.
“We are so appreciative of the support of our entire community, from all of the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support all of the activities, to our staff and students who raised the level of house spirit every day, to our parents who helped bolster support for this year’s campaign.”
Activities on Friday opened with a float parade highlighting the creativity of the upper primary and secondary students as well as the school’s art and design technology departments.
Saltus alumni joined in a “bowl off” cricket game with several pupils from each house.
The day ended with three interschool football games.
