Bermuda College partners with Adult Education School
Bermuda College and the Adult Education School have entered into a partnership to help students transition smoothly to college-level courses in hopes of achieving their academic and career goals.
In a process known as reciprocal referrals, the college and AES have signed a memorandum of understanding that will assist students seeking admission to courses or programmes at Bermuda College.
AES learners meeting published eligibility requirements can be referred to seek admission into any course or programme at the college.
Additionally, college applicants leaving school before graduation and not academically prepared to enter college can be referred to AES.
Students admitted to Bermuda College but recommended to complete development course work will be referred to the AES.
“The college continues to dismantle the barriers impacting access to higher education and, through this partnership, looks to honour the transformational pathway the Adult Education School represents for many in our community,” said Nikkita Scott, Bermuda College’s acting vice- president of academic and student affairs.
“The intent is to address gaps in service through the creation of a supportive network as learners transition from one institution to the other,”
AES chairman Ernest Peets said: “This partnership creates a supportive pathway for learners and, additionally, especially for the most vulnerable learners in our community, gives them access to higher educations, vistas and dreams.”
