Fostering a sense of purpose and growth, the Mirrors Programme Field of Learning Gardening Club Term 2 commenced this week and will run until late March.

“Not only is gardening a valuable life skill, but it is also a therapeutic practice that contributes to overall wellbeing,” said Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors.

The Field of Learning Gardening Club is for students aged 13 to 18 and offers a hands-on experience in gardening. The club also enhances horticultural skills, while promoting personal development and social engagement.

Supplies will be provided and applicable participants can earn co-curricular and community service hours.

“We are excited to embark on another term of cultivating knowledge and fostering a love for gardening among our participants,” said Nelson C. Bascome III, the lead gardener at the Mirrors Programme. “This term will be filled with educational insights and opportunities for our young gardeners to connect with nature.”
