Fidelis supports tutoring for students at Whitney Institute
Fidelis Insurance Group is supporting the tutoring of Whitney Institute Middle School students under a new partnership.
The insurer will sponsor extra tutoring for qualifying students between the ages of 11 and 13 for the rest of the academic year.
The students, chosen by teachers at Whitney Institute, have learning needs and academic potential that could be further expanded by additional tutoring.
The first cohort will support five pupils, with the agreement providing an opportunity to expand the partnership.
Dan Burrows, group chief executive of Fidelis Insurance Group, said: “I’m delighted to announce this new partnership with Whitney Institute Middle School. At Fidelis Insurance, we’re acutely aware of how important a strong local talent pool is for the future of our industry in Bermuda.
“It’s a great privilege to be able to support Whitney Institute, whose values of promoting socially responsible, caring global citizens align so closely with ours at Fidelis Insurance.”
Edmeiko Butterfield, acting deputy principal at Whitney Institute, added: “Partnering with Fidelis Insurance on this initiative will provide significant benefits to a number of our pupils who have certain talents which could be enhanced with further learning opportunities.
“This extracurricular tutoring will allow our young people to gain additional skills and educational experiences which can help them in their studies, exams and wider future.
“I’m grateful to Dan and all at Fidelis Insurance for their proactive support of this endeavour.”
