BHS holds art show
Art enthusiasts gathered at the Joy Bluck Arts Wing of the Bermuda High School yesterday on the opening day of the Collectively Out of Sync exhibition.
Year 13 students of the school worked “many long hours” on the pieces on display at the BHS International Baccalaureate Art Show, art teacher Katherine Kenny said.
Ms Kenny along with colleague Rachel Simons worked with the students on creating the pieces on display at the event, which runs until March 27 at the school. She said the pieces are a culmination of two years of work.
Works were completed by students Maya Bean, Kaitlyn Burnard, Lily Cornes, Tyler Dietz, Jasmine Douglas, Kelsy Dyer, Ryan McDowell and Saria Robinson, the school said.
“I am very pleased with the variety and quality and dedication that has gone into the work. There were a lot of late hours,” Ms Kenny said of the girls’ efforts.
The students collectively coined this year’s theme given the variety of work they created over the past two years.
Some of the pieces on display are up for sale, and Ms Kenny noted that the funds will go “right back to the students” for their efforts.
