Progress made on restoration of college IT system
Progress has been made to restore the Bermuda College computer network after a system outage, an update said today.
Phone and e-mail services were disrupted over the weekend and an investigation was launched by the college’s IT department and IT vendor.
Students and staff were told then that the campus would be closed “until further notice”.
An update from the college said today: “Good progress has been made towards restoration of the IT system, thanks to the IT department and its security partners.
“A phased return today was successful with front-facing essential services operating as normal on campus.
“Some classes were held on campus, while others will continue to be taught remotely as Wi-Fi access remains limited at this point.
“The phone system, which is linked to the internet, remains out of service.”
Further updates were expected to be provided when information was available.
