Arizona State University launches Bermuda scholarships
Bermudians looking to study at Arizona State University have been offered support in the form of new scholarships and a partnership with Bermuda College.
ASU recently announced, at a celebration of the school’s partnership with the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, that five full-tuition scholarships would be offered through the ASU Bermuda Tuition Scholarship programme.
The scholarships, awarded on a competitive basis, would allow Bermudian students to study in person at one of ASU’s campuses, and applications are open now.
Meanwhile the ASU Bermuda Scholarship is awarded per year on a non-competitive basis and is open to all qualified Bermudian students.
This scholarship is available immediately for students admitted to the fall semester of 2024, and for subsequent semesters.
ASU also announced that Bermuda College had signed an articulation agreement with the school to create pathways to transfer credits between the two institutions.
The opportunities offer successful applicants access to ASU’s entire catalogue of study, including more than 400 degree programmes in person and 300 degree programmes online.
Mark Guishard, chief operating officer of ASU BIOS, said: “We are privileged to have supported ASU in delivering these educational initiatives, and we look forward to expanding our great partnership with the Bermuda College, for the benefit of Bermuda.”
Constance Ridley-Smith, co-ordinator of external programmes and articulation agreements at Bermuda College, said: “We consider the articulation between Bermuda College and Arizona State University to be a stellar move.
“This is a win for the island of Bermuda, and Bermudian students of all ages.”
