Summer camps unite to create inspirational mural
A mural celebrating healthy lifestyles has brought together the creative talents of children from nine summer camps.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education and acting sport and culture minister, attended the unveiling of the collaborative work, titled The Future is in Our Hands, at West Pembroke Primary School.
He said the vibrant artwork reflected the spirit and diversity of the island.
Mr Rabain said: “This colourful artwork is a shining example of our community's creativity, teamwork and unity, especially among you, our young people.
“This project brought together nine different summer camps, showing how sports and recreation can bring out the best in us, teaching us teamwork, perseverance and respect.
“The collaboration among these camps is a great reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. It shows that diverse groups can unite for a common goal, creating something truly special.
“Let this mural remind us of the importance of unity, health and wellbeing in our community. Let's continue to support the talents and contributions of our young people who are the true artists of our future.”
The children created the mural under the guidance of art co-ordinator Charmaine Friday and art specialist Jada Dean.
