Devonshire four take annual educational awards
Four students have been commended for “exceptional dedication” and “a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our community” with scholarships from the Devonshire Parish Council.
The council is an independent and apolitical body representing residents of the parish.
The 2024-25 awards went to Micah Hollis, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture with honours; Denae Burchall, studying for a Master of Science degree in psychology and neuroscience of mental health; Jasmin Williams, who aims for a Bachelor of Science degree in computing for business and management; and Imani Bean, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance with honours.
The council said its annual scholarship programme “aims to empower and support outstanding individuals in their pursuit of higher education and foster a brighter future for our community”.
In addition to financial support, the four will have opportunities to take part in community events and networking opportunities organised by the council.
Zoe Smith, the scholarship committee chairwoman, said: “We are immensely proud to recognise these exceptional young individuals who have shown remarkable dedication to their studies and service to our community.
“Through the Devonshire Parish Council scholarship programme, we aim to empower these bright minds to pursue their dreams and become catalysts for positive change.”
The council congratulated the recipients and thanked all the applicants “who showcased their outstanding potential and commitment to bettering their future and community”.
