Bermudians urged to apply for Government bursaries
The Government is accepting applications for this year’s second round of Public Service Bursary Awards.
The awards recognise individuals who will meet the future needs of government departments, particularly in key roles that are often challenging to fill.
A spokeswoman for the Cabinet Office said: “The public service is dedicated to attracting and nurturing Bermuda's top talent, ensuring they reach their full potential.
“The Bermuda Government’s Bursary Awards programme offers financial support and recognition to outstanding individuals who have shown commitment, perseverance and potential in academic studies that align with the future needs of the service.
“We are seeking individuals who are pursuing a varied, dynamic and fulfilling career in the public service and we encourage young people to apply for this year’s bursary awards.”
The deadline for applications is September 27.
Bursaries are valued at $20,000 per annum; not exceeding five years.

To be considered for a bursary award, applicants must:
• Be Bermudian
• Have completed no less than five years of schooling in Bermuda
• Be aged 40 years or under at date of application
• Have been accepted into an institution of higher learning or be undertaking courses leading to a professional, specialist or technical qualification required within the public service
• Be in an undergraduate or master’s degree programme
• Be planning a career in the public service upon completion of their education
Bursaries are awarded by the Public Service Commission to selected applicants enrolled in courses of study at a university, college or other training institution, in order to acquire professional or technical qualifications.
The award contributes towards the student’s expenses and is not expected to cover all costs.
