Somersfield to host open house next week
Parents can learn more about the unique education Somersfield Academy offers to students next week.
A school spokeswoman said the open house on Thursday will explore the Montessori philosophy, which emphasises a child’s overall development and hands-on learning, and the benefits of starting formal education at age 3.
She added: “The journey will begin in Children’s House (3 to 6 years) and end in Lower Primary (P2 to P4), showing the progression of the Montessori curriculum from one level to the next.
“Participants will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Montessori materials and have one-on-one talks with our Montessori-trained teachers.”
People can register for the event, which will take place from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, via SignUp Genius, but are asked not to bring their children.
• Call Alison Kempe, head of admissions, on 239-3345 or e-mail admissions@somerfield.bm for more information or to schedule a visit to the school
