Somersfield Academy to hold open day

Open for business: Somersfield Academy

Somersfield Academy will hold an open house to inform parents of its International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

A school spokeswoman said that guests will hear from head of secondary Charlie Judd about what sets Somersfield’s IB continuum apart.

She added that visitors can also enjoy student-led tours for an up-close look at the classrooms and learning environment that contribute to the school’s above-worldwide averages in the international curriculum.

The spokeswoman said: “Somersfield Academy provides a unique seven-year IB curriculum for students aged 11 to 18, guiding them through the Middle Years Programme and into the Diploma Programme.

“Designed to offer preparation that goes beyond traditional schooling, the MYP builds a strong foundation for both academic and personal growth.

“As Bermuda’s only school to offer this IB continuum, Somersfield takes pride in over 20 years of unparalleled success, immersing students in the enriching IB experience, that leads to socially conscious independent-thinking leaders.”

The event will be held between 9am and 10.30am on November 5.
