Paget Primary School to host annual Black History Museum
Black Bermudian trailblazers will be honoured at a special event at Paget Primary School this month.
The school’s 7th Annual Black History Museum will take place on February 26 and 27 from 10am to 2.30pm on its grounds.
Freda Trimm, a teacher of the school's autism spectrum disorder class, said: “This event is a significant opportunity for our students to learn about and honour Black Bermudian trailblazers who have made a lasting impact on Bermuda’s history and paved the way for future generations.
“Each classroom has selected a distinguished individual to highlight, and students have been actively researching and preparing exhibits to showcase their contributions.
“I am proud to share that my primary one autism spectrum classroom will be honouring Commissioner of Education Kalmar Richards for her outstanding leadership and dedication to education in Bermuda.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families of those being honoured for granting us permission to highlight their loved ones.
“This event is not only a learning experience for our students but also a way to ensure that the legacy and achievements of these remarkable individuals continue to inspire future generations.”
Residents were invited to attend the event at Paget Primary School, 20 Ord Road, Paget.
