Residents interested in spending two months working as counsellors at government summer camps have until March 21 to submit their applications.

According to a government spokeswoman, the summer day camp employment scheme offers “an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in making a positive impact”.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, said: “Our summer day camp programme is designed to provide Bermuda's youth with enriching experiences that foster personal growth, teamwork, and lifelong skills.

“We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where children can learn, explore, and build lasting memories.

“I encourage all prospective employees, camp facilitators and families to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to an exciting and meaningful summer.”

A camp conference, aimed to equip camp owners, potential owners and staff with essential skills and knowledge, is scheduled for March 22 at the Bermuda College.

The event, hosted by the Department of Sport and Recreation, will feature workshops covering topics such as conflict resolution, water safety, adverse childhood trauma and autism awareness.

The conference will be followed by a vendor market, providing a centralised space where camp organisers can connect with resources and services.

The Government will host a camp exposition at Pier Six on April 6 for families to explore options while camp organisers showcase their programmes, activities and values.
