School offers variety of flavours in the name of diversity
A diverse feast of foreign flavours, art and culture will be on display when the Bermuda Institute’s Home and School Association hosts its annual cultural fair on Sunday.
More than a dozen countries will be showcased in the event, with students, parents, churches and residents collaborating to provide authentic ethnic food, traditional performances and cultural displays.
Attendees can enjoy a wide selection of traditional vegetarian dishes from around the world, including offerings from Portugal, Jamaica, Japan, the Philippines, Kenya, Trinidad & Tobago, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Belgium, Italy and China.
Katrina Ball, the president of the school’s charitable association, said: “This event fosters unity, appreciation for diversity and a deeper connection among students, families and the wider public.
“We encourage everyone to join us and celebrate the richness of our global heritage.”
The event will take place at the Bermuda Institute on Middle Road in Southampton between midday and 4pm.
It will begin with a Parade of Nations, when dignitaries and special guests in attendance.
Admission is free but food and activities tickets will be available to buy, with all proceeds supporting essential campus improvements, including new lockers and playground equipment.
