Government highlights digital skills programme

Bermudians can learn about artificial intelligence, programming and other digital skills through a free education programme.

A government spokesman said the Bermuda Coders “equips Bermudians with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.”

Artist Tashel Bean created a video to spark interest in the programme, which was made possible through a partnership between the Bermuda Government and the United Arab Emirates through their Government Experience Exchange Office.

Hundreds of people have already registered for and successfully completed eight-week tracks in AI, data analysis, programming and Android app development through the programme.

The spokesman added: “Fintech training, which includes Bermuda Coders, is now under the Department of Workforce Development.

“This transition is critical to the Government's broader commitment to skills development in Bermuda. It ensures that Bermudians have streamlined access to programmes such as the Bermuda Coders initiative and other digital and developmental learning and training opportunities, all under one roof.

“Through Bermuda Coders and other initiatives, the Department of Workforce Development is committed to nurturing local tech talent and providing opportunities for individuals at all skill levels to learn, grow and connect with a thriving digital community.”

Participants should complete one track before registering for another to maximise their chances of success in the programme.
