Gilbert & Sullivan seeking actors for ‘The Addams Family’
The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Bermuda is looking to celebrate its 50th anniversary with family -- The Addams Family.
After two years without a show because of Covid-19, the charity will return to Earl Cameron Theatre on October 16 with the Broadway musical The Addams Family, based on the popular television programme and cartoon of the same name.
Casting for the production is under way, with actors asked to submit video auditions by the end of tomorrow.
Jane Thorpe, head of the G&S production sub-committee, said: “With the pandemic, it has been two years since G&S has staged their annual production and we look forward to getting back on stage with a live audience.
“Being involved with a production gives people the opportunity for personal development and confidence building while learning a new skill and meeting new people.
“It can be hard work but it is always fun. It is very gratifying to work as part of a team to put on a high-quality production.”
A spokeswoman said that G&S is looking for people with a wide variety of backgrounds for the production.
Those who are interested in auditioning can learn more by visiting the society’s Facebook page, Instagram page or by emailing production@gandsbda.onmicrosoft.com.
Successful applicants will then be contacted about in-person auditions, to be held on June 11 and 12, with rehearsals set to begin on August 22.
