‘Gold Bermudians’ films to premiere tonight
Five “Gold Bermudians” will be highlighted tonight in a free documentary series at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
The short films, each by a different Bermudian producer, start at 7pm – with a question-and-answer session to follow. It is sold out, a spokeswoman said.
The Department of Culture series features Bermudians who have shone on the international stage, with each filmmaker tasked with using their own style of cinematic storytelling.
A spokeswoman said: “Knowing about their accomplishments will serve as inspiration for younger and older Bermudians alike, and remind the community about the many ways Bermudians consistently continue to punch above our weight.”
The series features:
• Actor Earl Cameron, filmed by Antoine Hunt and Amy Murray;
• Michael Frith, television producer, filmed by Kyle Simmons;
• Lance Hayward, jazz musician, filmed by Milton Repose of Method Media;
• Olympic boxer Clarence Hill, filmed by Marq Rodriguez;
• Katura Horton-Perinchief, Olympic diver, filmed by Dion the Creative
