Hamilton celebrates spring with lunchtime entertainment
The Corporation of Hamilton will be celebrating warmer days with its annual Spring into the City event this week.
An array of free lunchtime activities, offerings and giveaways will be up for grabs at City Hall starting today.
Melissa Looby, the corporation’s events and marketing co-ordinator, said: “We’re thrilled to bring back Spring into the City, as it was very well received last year.
“It is a great way to ease into the warmer months and reinvigorate the mind, body and soul. We invite everyone to come out to City Hall each day of the week, starting on May 1 between 12pm and 2pm, to take advantage of everything on offer, from mini massages and lawn games to live music and sweet treats.”
Each day of the week will feature a theme — Motivational Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday and Fiesta Friday.
May 1: Motivational Monday: Mondays are never easy. Enjoy motivation stations, “brain breaks” with a sensory tent, motivational messages and invigorating Superblend Matcha samples from NovelTea. Music by DJ Rusty G.
May 2: Tasty Tuesday: Get your taste buds tingling with a variety of delicious morsels from City vendors including Ashley’s Lemonade, while De Onion Patch Crew entertains on their steel pans.
May 3: Wellness Wednesday: Tough morning? Take a load off and head to the City Hall lawn for mini massages provided by Siam Spa and take away some wellness tips. Live music by Aimee + Davy.
May 4: Thoughtful Thursday: We all have something to be thankful for. Head to the Gratitude Wall on Nellie’s Walk and share your message of thanks, or leave an inspirational quote. Take a chance at the big wheel and spin to win. Sample some Kindness Cookies from Frostbites and enjoy upbeat tunes from the Silver City Band.
May 5: Fiesta Friday: Let’s kick off the weekend, Cinco de Mayo style, with mock-Margarita samples from Mixyz BDA and Birria taco samples provided by The Factory. Fun lawn games including Giant Connect Four and Giant Jenga will keep you guessing. Don’t miss out on some free giveaways and DJ Rusty G returns to ease you into your weekend vibe.
