Carnival programme boasts local and overseas talent
A five-day extravaganza throughout the long Bermuda Carnival weekend boasts a string of local and international talent, organisers said.
Bermuda’s own DJ Rusty G, Fire Wayne and Ponaflex will take the stage at several shows over the long weekend.
DJ Rusty G, declared himself “honoured to be a part of the Carnival in Bermuda and to represent our local music scene”.
He said it would showcase the “incredible talent we have right here on the island”, promising that his “high-energy sets and love for soca music” would leave attendees with an “unforgettable“ experience.
The artist, who has taken on 14 bookings during Carnival, has made a name on the international stage with performances so far this year in Trinidad, Germany, London and Miami, building a reputation for mixing skills and stage presence.
Bermudian artist Fire Wayne has released a new song, One Blood, determined to set an anthem for the island’s countdown to Carnival.
The track, forged in collaboration with DJ Rusty G, is out on all major streaming platforms.
Fire Wayne is to grace events such as Evolve, Oasis, Euphoria, Wetta and Glow.
Several events for Carnival will showcase local DJs Mista Genius, DJ Mystro, DJ Fury, and DJ Ibreeze among others, keeping energy high.
The line-up will be joined by Bermudian artist Ponaflex, bringing new singles Best Time and Teef Wine before crowds at Evolve, Swizzle Sunrise and Pure.
Ponaflex delivered energetic performances at Trinidad and Miami carnivals, showing an aptitude for keeping a crowd on their feet.
Organisers pledged “an unparalleled celebration of culture, music and unity”.
Darren Woods, spokesman for Carnival in Bermuda, highlighted the importance of giving home-grown talent the stages and platforms to thrive.
“They represent the incredible talent we have right here on the island, and it is crucial to support and uplift our local artists.
“We thank the local promoters for including our local talent in their events and encourage the entire island to come out and support them at all of the local events during the carnival.”
