The show must go on, says circus as TS Philippe looms
An extravagant three-day circus will still go on as scheduled despite challenges posed by Tropical Storm Philippe, organisers announced yesterday.
The Super American Circus, which is scheduled to have its first two shows this evening, plans to still have an opening night.
But Gina Spence, a co-organiser for the event, stressed that government advice will still be heeded.
Additionally, any updates or changes caused by inclement weather will be announced as soon as possible, she said.
Free tickets have also been donated, intended for children aged 12 and under whose families may not normally have a chance to see the circus.
The complimentary tickets, distributed by the Ministry of Education, must be accompanied by a paid ticket for general seating in order to be admissible.
The tickets are to be used in today’s 5pm show and Sunday’s 7.30pm show as the rest are almost completely booked.
Tickets start at $40 for children and $80 for adults in general admission, while preferred seating ranges from $50 for children to $100 for adults.
VIP tickets, which provide the closest view of the action with seats next to the circus ring, go for $150 all around.
Tickets can be bought at Ptix or at the Super American Circus’s homepage.
Parking will be available outside the Shed in Dockyard, where the event is taking place, with traffic marshals to assist with flow.
Chiko & T’s Restaurant will also serve as a food vendor for the event.
