Bermuda’s natural beauty, cuisine and attractions were featured as part of a collaboration between Oprah Daily and the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

An episode of the popular travel series Adventures with Gayle and Adamwith a segment about the island aired on August 9.

On its website, the series said it gives viewers “a front-row seat to the lives of Oprah Daily’s creative director and editor-at-large”, Adam Glassman and Gayle King.

Oprah Daily was launched in 2021 with a quarterly print edition and a membership-only community. American television star Oprah Winfrey is the platform’s founder and editorial director.

Ms King, who is a cohost of CBS Mornings, is a long-term friend of the famous TV presenter.

Mr Glassman’s work as the creative director at Oprah Daily includes oversight of style and beauty content.

In the episode, Ms King and Mr Glassman explored the Town of St George — a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The pair enjoyed a yoga session with Jasmine Furbert, of Very Rare Yoga, before they took a Rugged rental car and tried a fish sandwich from Stefano Barioni at Mama Mia’s.

While in St George, they met award-winning tour guide Kristin White, who told them: “It is one of the most historic towns in the western hemisphere.

“People have been living here in this town since 1612 and the architecture dates back to that time.”

The hosts took in St Peter’s Church, the oldest Anglican Church outside Britain, the Bermuda National Trust’s Tucker House Museum, and The Loren, where a wedding was taking place.

Next on the itinerary was the Lily Bermuda perfumery, where master perfumer Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone gave a rundown of the customisable scents on sale.

The programme also showcased the Rosewood Tucker’s Point, where the duo were staying, and they visited St George clothing store Boho Couture.

Tracy Berkeley, the BTA chief executive, said the initiative supported the authority’s strategic objectives as outlined in the National Tourism Plan.

She explained: “The team at Oprah Daily agreed to our pitch to host their show in Bermuda and we couldn’t be more pleased.

“Not only is the show a great watch, it delivers on our approach to driving awareness and positioning a Bermuda vacation as one full of culture and memorable experiences.

“The data has shown that our target visitors are moved to action not just by the island’s beauty, but by Bermuda’s unique way of life.

“This ticks all the boxes.”

Ms Berkeley added: “We are excited to have collaborated with Oprah Daily to share Bermuda’s unique charm with a broad audience.

“Gayle and Adam’s ability to capture the essence of our destination is truly remarkable and we believe this segment will inspire viewers to consider Bermuda as a top choice for their next vacation.”

Jamari Douglas, the vice-president of marketing, public relations and communications at the BTA, said: “Adventures with Gayle and Adam is an exceptional platform for us to highlight Bermuda’s diverse offerings, especially during our shoulder seasons.

“Personally, I have always admired Gayle King and dreamt of collaborating with her. Tracy and I had the pleasure of meeting Gayle and Oprah last December, which was a pivotal moment for us.

“This project has been over a year in the making and we are thrilled to see it come to fruition. We look forward to seeing the impact of this exposure on our tourism efforts and showcasing Bermuda as a year-round destination.”

Adventures with Gayle and Adam enjoys a strong following, and the Oprah Daily platform captures 2.8 million desktop views per month.

The Bermuda segment is available to watch on Oprah Daily.
