New York entertainment firm eyes Bermuda opportunities
A Bermudian-linked entertainment company plans to launch an initiative to bring “world-class live entertainment” to the island next year.
Armand & Paiva LLC, founded by Bermudian entrepreneur Carl Paiva and TJ Armand, an award-winning producer and former executive director of the Bermuda Festival, announced the initiative in a press statement highlighting upcoming projects.
They said: “This venture will collaborate with Bermuda-based private companies and charities, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality live entertainment.
“The initiative will include private events for company functions, live entertainment for weddings, and fundraising events for Bermuda charities.”
The New York-based company also unveiled upcoming projects in the US and Britain including a revival of Mary Bridget Davies’s Tony-nominated performance as Janis Joplin in London’s West End, which opens today.
In addition to portraying Joplin on Broadway, Ms Davies brought her performance to Bermuda during the 2018 Bermuda Festival.
“The production, taking place at the Peacock Theatre from August 21 to September 28, promises a powerful portrayal of the iconic rock legend, attracting audiences from around the world,” the statement said.
“Ms Davies performed a medley of songs from the show at West End Live last June.”
The entertainment company said it would soon announce its first forays into television.
“This exciting prospect is poised to introduce fresh, compelling content to a global audience, further establishing the company’s reputation as a formidable contender in the entertainment sector.”
