Bermudian dancer shines on New York stage
A Bermudian dancer is winning rave reviews for her solo performance on the New York stage.
Jada Pearman is displaying her dance skills in Dedicated to You, a powerful piece featuring the music of Bach and Sarah Vaughan, at the David H. Koch Theatre.
Ms Pearman is working with the celebrated Paul Taylor Dance Company as part of its annual autumn season.
Ms Pearman began her dance training at the In Motion School of Dance, and honed her skills as a pre-professional dancer at The Grier School in Pennsylvania.
She trained under renowned choreographers and performed at prestigious festivals, including the Palm Springs Choreography Festival, Steps on Broadway Choreography Festival, and the Koresh Artists Showcase.
Her passion for dance led her to attend summer intensives at institutions such as Alvin Ailey, Point Park, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Hubbard Street.
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, said Ms Pearman’s performance was “a testament to her dedication and artistry, bringing immense pride to Bermuda”.
He said: “Although I couldn’t be there in person, we are all cheering her on from Bermuda and look forward to celebrating her inspiring journey.
“The ministry extends heartfelt congratulations to Ms Pearman and anticipates her continued success.”
