Fisher wins 2025 round of popular talent show

A teenager was crowned the youngest-ever Bermuda Idol star on Saturday night.

Serilina Fisher, 14, defeated 15 other contestants in the singing competition at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts in CedarBridge Academy.

Comedian Earlwin “Bootsie” Wolffe, educator Joanne Ball-Burgess, former Idol winner Jesse Seymour and jazz artist Gita Blakeney Saltus were judges for the event, presented by Inter Island Communications.

Ms Fisher was presented with a $5,000 cash prize and trophy for her victory.

The Warwick Academy student thanked artist and singer Joy T Barnum, music teacher Deanna Friesen and Idol coach Rickeesha Binns for their guidance and inspiration in taking on the challenge.

Mikhyla Ming won $2,500 for coming second, while third-placed Tyler-Ray Wilson received $1,250.

Jonathan Walker won the $500 best showmanship prize and $300 was awarded for the best spectator sign.

Glenn Blakeney, cofounder and chief executive of Inter-Island Communications, thanked the Ministry of Education, ICS Tires, Caesar’s Pharmacy and several other sponsors for supporting this year’s event.
