Hamilton business showcases creativity for Heritage Month
As the island celebrates Heritage Month in May, the telecommunications firm Paradise Mobile is to transform into an art gallery for the month.
The exhibition will present the works of Bermuda’s artists in a range of mediums.
The show at the retail space at 24 Reid Street in Hamilton launches on Thursday, with an opening night running from 5.30pm to 8pm.
Attendees at the free event will enjoy an evening of live music, light bites and the opportunity to meet the featured artists, who include Natalie K. Sannemalm, Shanna Hollis, Meredith Andrews, Chyna Talbot, Jordan Carey, Martin Hatfield, Kimberley Fisher and Ishrat Yakub.
Guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase all exhibited artwork throughout the month, with proceeds going directly to the artists.
Brett Corday, chief revenue officer at Paradise Mobile, said the exhibit was “a tribute to the extraordinary creativity that thrives in our island community”.
Claire Peverelli, one of the organisers of the showcase, said: “This exhibition is really a celebration of all the variety of creative practices that exist on this little island.
“The showcase will feature drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture, textiles, collages and even jewellery.
“A massive thank-you to the team at Paradise for their collaboration in this exciting celebration of Bermuda’s creativity for Heritage Month. We look forward to opening night.“
• The gallery will be open throughout the month during Paradise Mobile’s regular hours of 10am to 6pm on weekdays and 11am to 4pm on Saturdays
