Award-winning gospel group to perform next month

A Grammy-winning contemporary gospel group will perform in Dockyard next month.

The event on March 26, organised by GracePoint Church, will feature the Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers and several other artists.

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers is made up of 25 members of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, which earned its seventh Grammy Award last week for I Will Not Be Moved: Live, which won the prize for Best Roots Gospel Album.

Other artists set to perform include Alvin Slaughter and Phillips, Craig & Dean, as well as Bermudian-based Sacred Steps and Spiritual Peace.

Jim Cymbala, the founding pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, will deliver a special message offering encouragement to both the church and the wider community.

Gary Simons, the pastor at GracePoint, said: “The evening is designed to unite people across generations and backgrounds in a shared experience of worship, encouragement and community.”

The concert at Victualling Yard starts at 7.30pm, tickets are $40 for general admission $70 for VIP seating, which includes a welcome bag, and can be purchased at ptix.bm.
