Hundreds of volunteers took to Bermuda’s parks and roadsides this weekend, collecting litter as part of KBB’s annual Spring Cleaning.According to Anne Hyde of Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB), around 400 people worked to clean up 30 locations across the Island during Saturday’s clean up event.“All of the participants comments have been positive,” she said.Among the areas targeted this year was Whale Bone Bay at Ferry Reach, Barry Road, and Wellington Back Road.Over the past three years, volunteers had put in over 10,500 hours of time and collected almost 100 tons of litter, recyclables and bulky waste items from the Island’s roadsides, beaches and trails.“Despite our efforts at KBB, we still see trash carelessly left behind,” a spokeswoman said. “It spoils our beautiful island and threatens the health of the environment and wildlife.”
