Need trash collected? Antoine will help

It started out as just helping out a work colleague, but for kind-hearted Antoine Jones it ended up him taking dozens of household’s trash to the incinerator.

On Tuesday Mr Jones headed down to Gilbert Hill, Smiths in the work truck to pick up an accumulating pile of rubbish bags from one house. Ultimately, however, he decided to take out the trash for another seven families living on the same road.

Yesterday he headed to Southcote Road, Paget, to clear another homeowner’s trash that had built up owing to this week’s work withdrawal and ended up helping six households by taking their trash to the incinerator.

“At times like this we need to come together and help each other,” Mr Jones said.

The 43-year-old, who works as a warehouse helper and heavy truck driver for Furniture Walk, added: “I like to help people, that’s just the kind of person I am.

“Whenever there is a storm I will always be out afterwards trying to see if I can help.

“On this occasion I just ended up doing more and more houses until the truck was full. People seemed to really appreciate it.”
