Chance for public to dispose of e-waste
The Ministry of Public Works is supporting the Free E-Waste & TAG Recycling Drop-Off Day event being sponsored by Somerset Cricket Club (SCC) on Saturday, March 7 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the club premises.
The public, specifically Somerset residents, are encouraged to participate and responsibly dispose of e-Waste, TAG recyclables (tin, aluminium cans and glass bottles) and bulky waste items by delivering items to SCC’s small field.
Commercial truckers are permitted to deliver e-Waste items only.
“Over the last few months the Ministry working alongside Keep Bermuda Beautiful has held several collection drives to clean up and keep Bermuda looking its very best, said Minister of Public Works, Lt. Col. David Burch, “So when the Somerset Cricket Club Board approached government requesting our involvement in this event, we were more than willing to support their efforts to keep our community clean.”
“To all area residents, this is a great opportunity. Normally you would have to bring items for disposal to the Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility in Devonshire. This Saturday, many of you can enjoy the convenience of traveling less than a mile, and so I urge you take advantage of this Free E-Waste & TAG Recycling Drop-off Day.”
