A community-minded Warwick resident had a thirsty day’s work this week tidying the roadside near his home.
Leo Betschart said: “People should be aware. I couldn’t believe it – I took out about 120 bottles and I haven’t evening finished that stretch of road.”
Mr Betschart went along Longford Road digging out trash from the hedges, and found an “amazing” number of bottles tossed on the roadside.
He stacked the discarded bottles along a roadside wall for collection.
He said: “I’m a senior citizen and I have lived in Bermuda over 60 years.
“I try to do my part cleaning up the road.”
