BUEI offers virtual voyages as holiday camps are closed
Interactive sessions designed to take youngsters on virtual sea voyages will be offered next week by the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
The 40-minute online presentations will guide children aged 5 to 13 through different aspects of ocean travel.
The sessions will also offer craft sessions using household materials, as well as the chance to ask BUEI crew members questions.
Karla Lacey, the chief executive of the BUEI, said the voyages would offer safe and fun activities at a time when spring camps were cancelled due to the latest Covid-19 outbreak, child-friendly indoor recreation was closed and the public were advised to stay in family bubbles to curb the spread of the coronavirus
The Voyages@Sea Zoom sessions will air at 10am next Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
There will also be a live feed to BUEI’s Facebook channel and broadcasts on CITV.
Families can register for the Zoom links and review a list of activities and materials needed at www.BUEI.bm or by calling 294-0209.
Children will be able to show their craft work in real time on Zoom and get a chance to win prizes.
CITV is also broadcast on 102 WOW and Channel 2 on Bermuda Cablevision.
