Deadline looms for Southlands proposals

Developers have until the end of next month to submit proposals to renovate properties on the Southlands National Park.
The Government invited proposals to develop the Warwick location through a public-private partnership last September.
Under the scheme, up to seven cottages in the northern part of the 37-acre site could be renovated “for purposes that will be complimentary to the National Park system”.
The Government is also seeking to build a café and restrooms on the property’s beach boundary.
Expressions of interest are to be submitted to the Government by February 24.
