The Department of Planning has told all applicants to register with the Customer Self-Service (CSS) online portal when they have an application submitted on their behalf.

The department said this would enable applicants to access the latest and most accurate information on the progress of their application and requests.

Until now, only agents submitting applications on behalf of an applicant needed to have a registered account, but all applicants must now be registered with the CSS online portal to submit applications for planning approval or building permits.

A spokesman said: “Registered CSS account users benefit from accessing additional services, allowing them to submit applications, request inspections and estimate fees. Users are also assured that their contact information will never be shared or distributed to a third party but only used to contact them regarding their planning application.”

All users can access the details and drawings of all publicly advertised planning applications with or without a registered account on the site.

To register, visit https://planning.gov.bm/, and for registration assistance, an easy-to-understand guidance document is available under related media.

For further information or questions about the Customer Self-Service portal, email csshelp@gov.bm.
